Happy Birthday Joshua!

This past Sunday evening we celebrated Joshua's birthday with our small group and other dear friends/neighbors/coworkers. It was a packed house (over 20 people!) but was really a joy to have everyone over. We had lots of fall snacks, music, and a special sharing time. It really made us so thankful that we are staying in Charlotte!

We were able to get a babysitter and go out on a date Tuesday evening to a nice Indian restaurant in town, THANKS MOM!

I am so thankful for my sweet husband! It was neat to hear others share words of encouragement at the party as we praised the Lord together for how He is at work in Joshua's life. It was also a blessing to hear Joshua share about the Lord's faithfulness to us this past year through times of difficulty (learning to be parents, clemson house, Mom's cancer) and times of joy (being home, DGCC, Joanna's wedding, and especially Karis' birth and watching her grow!)

Thankful for his love for the Lord and His word, his perseverance, attention to detail, diligence, self-control, and balance with work/family life. The most amazing thing this year has been getting to watch him change drastically (for the better!) as a daddy!! He is such an amazing dad and Karis adores him. Its so fun to see how much he really enjoys being with Karis and how he loves to be a servant leader in our home. I love how when we don't know what we're doing as new parents (OFTEN!) he is quick to lead us in prayer to trust that the Lord will give us all we need to care for and lead our daughter.  Thankful that as we sin and fall short daily, he is quick to forgive and fight for our unity, reminding me of the gospel. WE LOVE YOU JOSHUA!
