This has been a very busy month for Karis! We have had much travel between going home to help with Mom's cancer and traveling to Clemson to work on the house. All things considered, Karis has done so well! Karis has always been a pretty scheduled baby and all this traveling has thrown her a bit off :) We are also pretty sure she has started teething in the last couple weeks which has been a new challenge (fussy, runny nose, rash, DROOL etc).
Karis is SO active. Doesn't surprise me since she was so active even before she was born. Seems like she never stops moving which will be interesting once she starts crawling/walking/running! :) This month Karis has learned to sit unassisted which has been a very fun milestone. Karis is no longer content in "infant" seats (car seat, bouncer, bath tub etc) and tries as hard as she can to sit instead.
She loves new objects and everything goes straight to the mouth. She is rolling both directions which is fun except when she is trying to settle down to sleep which takes a bit longer these days. Karis continues to love being outside and any kind of music. She has been a little more cooperative with reading but still mostly enjoys chewing on the books :)
This month Karis showed her first signs of stranger anxiety while we were home in Summerville. Kinda sad since she usually loves all new people! She still does as long as one of us is nearby. Its funny to see the little things that startle her (ice machine, hair dryer, daddy sneezing etc) but so cool how she calms right down as soon as she can see one of us.
She continues to be a great eater. No solids yet and not in a rush until it seems like she is not satisfied with my milk. I have been SO hungry the last couple weeks and I think its just because she is eating more to compensate for new activity levels.
She has been waking up a little more than before 1-3 times per night, but no complaints here! She typically sleeps 10-11 hrs at night and for that Mommy and Daddy are very thankful! Karis will generally go right back to sleep with a little pat, passy and music.
Karis is long and lean like her daddy. She looks more like Joshua every day. Still wearintg 3-6 for some of her normal clothes but is almost ready to transition to 9-12 month sleepers! Still has pretty blue eyes and a sweet sweet smile :)
