Wow! Thought I was going to get to update this earlier but it didnt work out with the timing. Sorry!
Mom did great with surgery. Dr. Schimpf (plastic surgeon) said everything went great with inserting the expanders that will be in place until the final reconstruction takes place sometime later. Mom's surgery lasted just over 3 hours which was less than we expected!
Got to see her for a while after surgery and though a little loopy :) she was doing great and not in any pain. We ran into a little problem as they had run out of hospital rooms and we thought she was going to have to stay in the recovery room for the night. Thankfully, the Lord provided some really neat connections through family (THANK YOU!) and they were able to get Mom into a room tonight! Praise God! That put things a little behind in updating. My sweet daddy is staying with her tonight.
If things continue to go well, she will likely be in the hospital until Friday morning. SO thankful for my amazing mother-in-law who has been taking care of Karis for me! Also looking forward to having Joshua home with us tomorrow evening.
Thank you again to everyone who has been praying! The Lord was so gracious to us today in giving us all peace. Mom says thank you!
