This has been one of the most difficult weeks of my life, but we are so thankful for our sweet son, Caleb William, born last Tuesday, April 1st at 12:23pm, 8 lbs 1 oz, 21 3/4 inches long!
The c-section went well and the Dr. said that he had turned and was stuck transverse when they took him out. While c-section is not the ideal option, we are thankful to the Lord for the gift of this surgery and of our son, where 100 years ago, transverse babies often resulted in death of momma and baby.
Our time in the hospital was rough with several complications and we were grateful to finally come home on Saturday. We are totally in survival mode as I still have a long way to go in recovery + caring for a newborn + trying to explain to our toddler that it will not always be this way.
But the Lord is sustaining us by His grace, moment by moment, day by day. We have never been more aware of our need for and dependence on Him, and though it is hard, we are overwhelmed with joy by His tender care for us in this time.
Thank you to all who have prayed for us! Please continue to pray for us as we continue on this journey. I am still hurting and we are beyond tired, but we are overflowing in thankfulness.
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Romans 5:1-5
