Baby girl is 6 months today! Karis is growing SO fast, it seems like everyday brings something new. Here are a few glimpses into what life looks like with Karis at 6 months:
* We started solids! Going really slow with this but she seems to enjoy them overall. Just doing one small meal in the evenings. So far have tried rice cereal, peas and apples. Check out Karis and her first taste of apple tonight:
* Karis is somewhat enjoying solids ;) but still LOVES her milk :) We're down to about 4 feedings per day and I'm trying to follow her lead as to what she needs. Wanting to feed her as much as I can as long as I can.
* On a typical day, Karis wakes up around 7:30, spends some time with Daddy, eats around 8, naps from 9-11ish, eats at 11, eats at 3ish, naps 3:30-5 (maybe!), solids at 5, then one last breastfeeding at 7.
* This month we have started having a more routine bedtime ritual with family worship. Its been such a blessing! Feeding, bathtime (really needing to just transition her to the big bath tub shortly), then a story with Daddy from the Jesus Storybook Bible. I help lead us in a handful of songs, which Karis loves, then we pray, bless her, and lay her down. Thankfully she usually goes down on her own with no problems between 7:30-8 and sleeps 12 hours until the following morning.
* Karis has cut 2 teeth now on the bottom. They are too cute! They also make for a very fussy baby at times.
* She is sitting very well on her own with no support. She plays well independantly but always loves to have company. Karis is still a very happy baby overall and very much enjoys other people.
* This month we have seen the beginnings of mobility. She will get up on her hands and knees and rock, sometime scoot but no crawling just yet. Won't be long!
* Karis started last week saying "da da da da da". Daddy loves it :) She loves hearing herself make the new sounds and says it throughout the day. So sweet!
